RSUPPORT disaster relief efforts are expanding in Japan after the South Korean remote-technology company announced free access to three of its core remote-work and support platforms for organizations affected by the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake.
The company said businesses, local governments and organizations affected by the earthquake will be able to use RemoteView, RemoteCall and RemoteMeeting at no cost as they work to restore operations and coordinate recovery activities.
The initiative comes as organizations in affected areas face a familiar challenge after major natural disasters: maintaining essential operations when employees cannot safely reach offices, transportation networks are disrupted or facilities and IT equipment become difficult to access.
RSUPPORT’s response is centered on remote technology rather than physical infrastructure. The company is positioning its software as a way for organizations to access office computers, provide technical assistance and coordinate emergency meetings without requiring everyone involved to be in the same location.
The assistance will remain available through January 31, 2027, according to the company. RSUPPORT also said participating organizations will not be automatically moved to paid subscriptions when the free-support period ends.
The program follows other corporate disaster-response efforts after the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake. NTT Group, for example, announced a ¥50 million donation for affected communities while also working to restore communications services.
RSUPPORT Disaster Relief Focuses on Business Continuity
Natural disasters create operational problems that extend beyond physical damage.
When transportation is interrupted or offices become inaccessible, employees may be unable to reach the computers, servers and internal systems they normally use. RemoteMeeting provides web-based video conferencing.
According to RSUPPORT, meetings can be started through a web browser without requiring a separate application to be installed. During emergency operations, that can help organizations establish communication channels among headquarters, temporary offices, local authorities and field personnel.
Together, the three services address remote access, technical support and communication — three functions that can become more important when normal workplace operations are disrupted.
Who Can Receive the Free Remote Solutions?
The free program is aimed at organizations directly affected by the 2026 Kumamoto earthquake as well as organizations involved in recovery and reconstruction activities.
Eligible applicants include businesses, local governments and related organizations in affected areas.
RSUPPORT said the offer is limited to new users carrying out recovery-related activities or whose business operations have been affected by the disaster.
Once an application and required procedures are completed, eligible organizations can use the services until January 31, 2027.
The company says it will provide account information and initial setup assistance so organizations can begin using the services after approval.
RSUPPORT may also verify the relevant workplace and number of users according to the information submitted during the application process.
The company cautioned that support could end if an application contains false information or does not meet the program’s conditions.
The program may also close early if demand exceeds expectations.
Importantly, RSUPPORT said there will be no automatic paid conversion or billing without user consent after the free-support period expires.
That distinction can matter in disaster-relief programs, where organizations may need temporary access to services without taking on an unexpected long-term software commitment.
